Crown rust on oat genotypes with different levels of resistance: damages and losses

چکیده
ABSTRACT: The evolution in virulence of Puccinia coronata f. sp. avenae has challenged the genetic resistance to crown rust oat genotypes. New sources are constantly required for yield stabilization and costs reduction. This study aimed characterize genotypes disease´s productive economic impact. Experiments were conducted two environments, with without chemical control. Resistance was measured by disease progress, apparent rate infection, final severity pustule size. Damages based on reduction yield, 1000 grain mass hectoliter mass. UFRGS16Q6030-2 immune. In both UFRGS166091-2 URS Brava exhibited greatest level smallest reduction, while 22 highly susceptible, reducing more than 70% its yield. These results surpass negative impacts previously reported oats, particularly related data presented this paper highlighted importance resistance, partial maintaining potential, environmental contamination less fungicides, increasing gains cultivation.

Virulence of Oat Crown Rust in Brazil and Uruguay
Oat (Avena sativa) is an important forage and grain crop in countries of the southern cone region of South America. Approximately 600,000 ha of oats are grown for grain in Argentina, Uruguay, and southern Brazil. Also, more than 4,000,000 ha are grown for forage (17,19,22), although in Brazil much of the forage oat is A. strigosa rather than A. sativa. In the subtropical to temperate climate of...

Oat crown rust, caused by f. sp. , is a major constraint to oat ( L.) production in many parts of the world. In this first comprehensive multienvironment genome-wide association map of oat crown rust, we used 2972 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) genotyped on 631 oat lines for association mapping of quantitative trait loci (QTL). Seedling reaction to crown rust in these lines was assessed...
متن کاملResponses to Selection for Partial Resistance to Crown Rust in Oat
Crown rust, caused by the fungal pathogen, Puccinia coronata Corda var. avenae W.P. Fraser Ledingham, reduces kernel quality and grain yield in oat (Avena sativa L.). Partial resistance is considered to be a durable form of rust resistance. This study sought to evaluate the feasibility of simultaneously improving partial resistance to crown rust, grain yield, and seed weight in an oat populatio...
